News from Mystic Fractal

7/11/10

Four new x64 packages are released, the QuaSZ X64 Package, the Fractal Zplot X64 Package, The Crocus X64 Package and the Super X64 Package. These contain 64 bit updates to programs contained in the 32 bit packages of the same surnames. Also included in the new packages as bonuses are the 32 bit packages they are based on, so if you have multiple Windows systems, you can use whichever version of the program that works in it, plus you also get access to the 32 bit programs that haven't been upgraded yet to 64 bits. (If you already own one of the 32 bit packages described here, upgrade buttons are provided for the 64 bit versions, that allow you to upgrade at greatly reduced cost.)

4/13/10

New versions of Crocus 4, Swirlique and Fractal Lab, along with 64 bit versions, Crocus x64, Swirlique x64 and Fractal Lab x64 are posted. New x64 packages are also available.

3/10/10

The first brand new Mystic Fractal program since 2008, Mantra, is released, along with a 64 bit version, Mantra x64. These are dedicated Mandelbulb generators that feature 100+ triplex formulas for creating a wide variety of Mandelbulb Sine and Mandelbulb cosine images.

2/18/10

Fractal ViZion x64 is released.

2/15/10

A new version of Fractal ViZion is released. This is based on the latest version of Fractal Zplot. It features most options found in Fractal Zplot except 3D exports, composite figures and images requiring an external photo, such as pic-trap fractals. It is designed to be easy to use and self-contained, with maybe some retouching and post-processing of images created with it using a paint program such as Photo Shop.

Note: due to the restructuring of orbital fractals in Fractal Zplot, data files containing orbital fractals are incompatible with previous versions of Fractal ViZion... Current users of Fractal ViZion should probably keep an older copy of Fractal ViZion available if they intend to reproduce an orbital fractal created with it. (The current version contains all of the previous orbital fractal types for generating new orbital fractals.)

2/05/10

Fractal Imaginator x64 and Fractal Zplot x64 are released.

1/30/10

QuaSZ x64 is released, the first Mystic Fractal program designed for 64-bit Windows.

3/25/08

MacOrca for OS X is released. Featuring an expanded set of orbit-trap methods (25), generalized formulas (22) and 3-D orbit-trap and bubble textures. This is the latest installment on easy to use Macintosh fractal programs. All six OS X programs are now available as a package. See Packages page for discount pricing.

2/04/08

The OS X Package is expanded to include Windows versions that are cross-platform compatible. Fractal data is saved in a text format that is readable on both systems. (Some rendering options and formulas aren't available for transfer between systems to maintain a minimum of compatability in the format. Rendering options may vary between systems, but formulas and basic parameters should be the same.) Windows packages have also been expanded to include OS X programs that are compatible with their Windows counterparts.

2/01/08

A trial version of DynaMaSZ 2 is released. This contain most of the features of the full version except that the size of the images is limited to 320X240 and no external rendering libraries are included.

1/26/08

A new Poemscapes gallery is posted. This features poetry written from 2001 to the present and fractals by Orca. Also, an expanded and revised Fractal Compositions and Compositions (poetry) gallery are posted.

1/06/08

Orca for Windows is released. This program brings the best of nineteen years of fractal programming together, and expands on it in many new ways. A gallery of Orca pictures is posted here.

10/17/07

A new version of Fractal ViZion is released! This includes an expanded Fine-Tuning menu that allows you to manually set options like Biomorph and Decomposition that were previously only adjusted randomly by the program. It also includes an option to transfer fractal data from Fractal ViZion to iVizionaire.

10/01/2007

A new QuaSZ/Fractal Zplot gallery is posted: the Newton 3D gallery features pictures generated by Alessandro Rosa's "cutoff rate" method (included in the latest releases of QuaSZ and Fractal Zplot.) This allows 3D representation of formulas using Newton's method and other convergent-style bailout algorithms, which is impossible by the traditional method of mapping quaternions.
